World Superyacht Awards 2010 Finalists Announced Boat International Media is delighted to present the finalists for the World Superyacht Awards 2010. Over 100 nominations were received for the 5th edition of the World Superyacht Awards. Under the guidance of Chairman Roger Lean-Vercoe, Boat International Media’s editors met over the course of two days to study each individual nomination and refine the list to a group of outstanding finalists. Many congratulations to all of the owners and the teams responsible for the shortlisted yachts; it is a notable achievement to be named as a Finalist in what have become the world’s most coveted superyacht awards. The resulting Finalists will now go forward to be judged under the scrutiny of our Jury which is composed of 13 seasoned superyacht owners and two industry professionals. We aim for every finalist to be inspected by at least one judge before the winners are decided upon during the Judges’ Day in London. The results will remain secret until the winners are announced at The World Superyacht Awards gala ceremony on 22 May held in the spectacular surroundings of London’s historic Guildhall. The coveted Neptune trophies will be presented to the winners in recognition of the owners’ vision and creation of the most magnificent yachts. TABLE APPLICATIONS Applications to attend the World Superyacht Awards gala evening are now open: Please note that places are limited and priority will be given to superyacht owners and to the teams involved with the finalist yachts. IMPORTANT CHANGES As the superyacht industry has grown and developed over the years, we feel that the yachts and the designers and craftsmen behind their construction deserve to be recognised specifically in the areas of interior design, styling, innovation and technology. We have therefore decided to launch the ShowBoats Design Awards to honour the industry’s craft and design talents to the full. The ShowBoats Design Awards will incorporate the individual design categories formerly part of the World Superyacht Awards as well as introducing a number of new categories including: the Design and Technology Award, Most Innovative Interior Layout Award and Best Tender Design Awards for both sports and limousine tenders. The ShowBoats Design Awards will be presented during a gala evening at Donald Trump’s private members club, the Mar-a-Lago, Palm Beach, Florida on 26 October 2010.
