World Superyacht Awards

Boat International Media is pleased to announce that the fourth World Superyacht Awards 2009 has been confirmed to take place on May 15th 2009 at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice, Italy.

The Golden Anchor has also confirmed that they will be Platinum sponsors, third time running for this prestigious event.

Nominations for this year opened on April 20th 2008 and we invite all of our readers to make nominations in each of the award categories. Yachts must be 30 metres and above and have been delivered between 1st January and 31st December 2008.

Entries can only be made by filling in the nominations form on the World Superyacht Awards website: www.worldsuperyachtawards.com. The closing date for nominations is 31st December 2008.

Boat International Media announces acquisition of the Malcolm Wood (MJW) Yacht Databases

The MJW Yacht Databases are the most comprehensive and accurate databases for the superyacht industry in existence having been developed and painstakingly maintained by Malcolm Wood over the last twenty five years.

The databases cover superyachts 24 metres and above, tracking the current fleet; yachts on order and under construction; as well as those no longer in service. With over 125 fields on over 9,000 yachts, key information includes vessel types, current & former names, classification, dimensions, tonnages, capacities, shipyard and construction information, naval architect and designers, engine and mechanical details, refit and rebuild information, special features and ownership data.

2008 World Superyacht Award Winners Announced

San Maggiore Island, Venice, Italy. April 18th 2008.

Four hundred owners and leading members of the superyacht industry witnessed the presentation of the 2008 World Superyacht Awards during a glamourous gala evening in the magnificent Palladian buildings of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice, during which a total of 18 highly coveted 'Neptunes' - the 'Oscars' of the Superyacht World - were presented.
