Lilian Lee appointed editor of Boat International China

December 21, 2010

Lilian Lee is happiest when on or by the water. She doesn’t just write about the boating world, she is an active part of the boating world, whatever the season.

Sailing, motor boating, racing, umpiring, helping new owners, maintaining her own boat, Lilian is involved at many different levels and many different ways and now as Editor of Boat International (China) she is starting to pass on her enthusiasm and knowledge to others in yet another way

Whether it be on a high-powered Rigid Inflatable off the English Coast or racing her own sailboat on Chinese waters, there are very few Chinese people, especially women who can claim to have such a varied interest in boating activities.

A Graduate of Peking University, Lilian initial career path took into the world of non-profit organizations, so it should be no surprise that she organized China's first charity regatta. This event is still the biggest inland regatta in China for Chinese amateur sailing enthusiasts.

She was involved in the China Team America's Cup Challenge for AC32 and was a co-developer, with the China (Shanghai) International Boat Show, of the Asia Marine and Boating Awards. She was, and still is, one of the main drivers behind the China Club Challenge Match, the oldest keelboat regatta in China which in 2010 has 20 teams from China competing off the City island of Xiamen.

Lilian breathes boats, It has been joked that if you cut her she would bleed sea water.

Her passion and wealth of knowledge for all things boat, and her ability to pass that on to others, make her a perfect choice as Chinese Editor for Boat International.
