Introducing the Voyager's Award

Boat International Media is delighted to present the Voyager’s Award – an exciting new category honouring an extraordinary sea adventurer at the World Superyacht Awards 2010.

The Voyager’s Award, proudly sponsored by Porto Montenegro, will be presented to the owner or charterer of a yacht of over 30-metres in length that has undertaken a voyage of an unusual or exploratory nature between 1 January 2008 and 31st December 2009. The winner of this remarkable award will be invited to attend the World Superyacht Awards gala evening at London’s Guildhall on Saturday 22 May 2010, where they will be presented with the coveted Neptune trophy.

After submitting your entry, you will be contacted by the World Superyacht Awards administration team requesting the following information:

- An account of the voyage amounting to a maximum of 1,500 words and a chart/charts illustrating the vessel’s track.

- Up to 30 digital photographs illustrating the voyage. Each should have a minimum resolution of 150 dpi with its largest dimension of no less than 8 inches (20cms)

The closing date for submissions is Friday 9 April 2010.

Porto Montenegro – “The New Port of Cool” (The Financial Times, June 2009)

The world is already talking about Montenegro’s stunning beauty and that has as much to do with Porto Montenegro as it does with Montenegro’s unspoiled coastline. Canadian entrepreneur Peter Munk had the vision to see Montenegro’s potential as a nautical playground long before most, and in surrounding himself with a group of equally visionary investors has established Montenegro as the premier yachting destination in the Mediterranean.

Porto Montenegro’s marina opened in June 2009 with 85 berths on two jetties. In June 2010, jetties 3 and 4 will provide another 100-plus berths, the first residential buildings will be complete, the Lido pool opens and there will be restaurants, shops and cafés to enjoy.
In autumn 2010, the Compositeworks facility opens across the bay and, in spring 2011, the Yacht Club will be inaugurated as additional residential buildings and amenities are completed. Porto Montenegro are delighted to sponsor the Voyager’s Award in 2010 and will host the World Superyacht Awards Judges’ Meeting in 2011.
