Viudes Yachts to Sponsor World Superyacht Awards 2010 Boat International Media are pleased to announce a new partnership with Spanish shipyard Viudes Yachts, who proudly sponsor the award for Best Displacement Motor Yacht of Below 500 Gross Tons at the forthcoming World Superyacht Awards in May 2010. Luxury yacht construction began in Barcelona more than 50 years ago, with Spanish market leaders Astilleros Viudes revealing to the world the quality and experience that the nation could offer to the international nautical industry. The newly formed Viudes Yachts unites the experience of the workers from Astilleros Viudes with new ideas and technologies, bringing this long-established name in the history of yacht building into 2010. Specializing in the construction of displacement yachts of over 24 metres with their current largest build measuring 45 metres, the size of the yachts in construction continues to grow with the company who aspire to produce even larger yachts in the coming years. Viudes Yachts joins an impressive line up of sponsors and partners proudly associated with the fifth annual World Superyacht Awards, which will take place at London’s Guildhall on Saturday 22 May.
