THE week of THE season in Sardinia!

Boat International Media and Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) are busy registering entrants and sponsors to The Boat International Superyacht Regatta to be held from June 9-13th, 2009.   The fleet, which will again boast many of the world's most magnificent racing superyachts will compete over four days on the famed emerald waters off Sardinia's northeastern coast.

Confirmed entries who will compete for the ultimate prize on the superyacht racing circuit, The Boat International Silver Trophy include:

Charles Dunstone's Philippe Briand designed 36 metre Hamilton II, Claus Peter Offen's competitive 30.5-metre Y3K  and Dr Thomas Bscher's 28.55 metre Open Season  both Wally Yachts by German Frers,  Marco Vogele's Philippe Briand 31.87 metre Gliss, Alessandro Rinaldi's  Bruce Farr designed 30 metre Farewell and the 47 metre German Frers designed Hyperion, the 37 metre Luca Brenta designed stunning silver sloop, Ghost and Kim Schindelhauer's Tony Castro designed 29M Scorpione dei Mari.  Other yachts are organising their Med summer diaries with a view to participate including the beautiful 49 metre Nathaniel Herreshoff schooner, Eleanora and the world's largest gaff rigged cutter,  46.3 metre Lulworth, and  Barry Houghton's Ed Dubois-designed 44 metre Salperton.

Confirmed entries also include Lang Walker's Kokomo designed by Ed Dubois and built at Alloy Yachts who are also a Silver sponsor of the regatta. Tony Hambrook, Managing Director of Alloy Yachts confirms his continued support for the forthcoming years:

Future Fibres, also a Silver sponsor of the event, showing continued support for the regatta over the next few years.  Many of the superyacht racing fleet have Future Fibres rigging and founder Tom Hutchinson, is a familiar face amongst clients on the regatta circuit.

As with last year's edition, the social events ashore will be every bit as exciting as the competition at sea. The social programme includes Skippers Briefing Welcome Cocktail at YCCS, the glamorous beach party for owners and guests at The Hotel Romazzino, an Owners Gala Dinner hosted at the YCCS and the Prize giving in the Piazza Azzurra.

Ed Dubois confirms the dates of The Dubois Cup at the YCCS on the 6th - 8th June.  He is expecting between  8 - 12 Dubois yachts many of which will remain in Porto Cervo to compete in the Boat International Superyacht Regatta.
