Marilyn Mower Appointed Books Editor and International Megayacht Editor

Boat International Media is delighted to announce that Marilyn Mower will be joining the group’s senior editorial team in August 2010.

Marilyn will assume the editorship of the 2012 editions of Boat International Media’s luxury hardback annuals – The Superyachts, The Megayachts USA and Refit, a role she will be combining with being the group’s international megayacht editor.

Based in the group’s Fort Lauderdale office, Marilyn’s wide-ranging role will initially see her returning to ShowBoats International as the acting editor while she covers Rebecca Cahilly’s forthcoming maternity leave.

Marilyn originally joined ShowBoats International in 1988 as executive editor and worked on the magazine for 18 trailblazing years, finishing as editor-at-large in 2006.
Since 2007, she has been editor of the monthly title Southern Boating and the quarterly Marine Business Journal.

She has edited, written or contributed to a number of books, including The Megayacht Century (1999), Caribbean Cuisine – a Culinary Voyage (2003), American Classic: The Yachts and Ships of Jack Hargrave (2005), The Encyclopedia of Yacht Designers (2005), Superyacht (2006), and Embassy Cruising Guide to Florida (2007).

Boat International Media thanks Roger Lean-Vercoe for his ground-breaking work on The Superyachts during the last 25 years, where as editor he has effectively produced the undisputed work of reference charting the history of the superyacht industry.

We are pleased to announce that Roger will increase his ongoing commitments with Boat International Media in his capacity as the Chairman of the Judges for the highly respected World Superyacht Awards, the Chairman of the Superyacht Design Symposium and the newly appointed Chairman of the Judges for the forthcoming ShowBoats Design Awards in Palm Beach on 26th October 2010.
